Is sleep a need of our body?
Yes, dear readers, sleep is one of the essential needs of our body, and it is as important as food is. As we need food for our life to survive, similarly we need sleep to revive our body. While we sleep our body get relaxed and does so many anabolic and metabolic activities like growth and development of the cells of our body, thus sleep is needed for our body.
When we sleep it relaxes our body and all vital organs of our body to work more efficiently. Our brain also gets relaxed and as an outcome our body feels a new energy. Because there are millions of neurons which are excited when we awake, and work continually, and if we do not give them time to relax, then it may cause some illness to our body. So to keep our body’s system in a good manner, and to get rid of illness, sleep is one of the needs of our body . That’s why all living beings sleep including plants and all the animals, to grow and develop themselves.
How much to sleep?
As per the age the need of sleep also changes, neonates need sleep of 16 to 18 hrs. Child needs a sleep of 12 hours, adult needs a sleep of 8 hours. It is, for all the genders.
